Laggwood Cottage is a self catering holiday cottage on the Isle of Arran. A historic mill workers cottage restored in
conjunction with historic Scotland. Set in half an acre of
ground bounded by Kilmory water, the cottage has a large front
lawn with barbeque area.
The cottage is only 10 minutes walk from the sea shore
where there is a large sandy beach but also great rock pools. There are
fantastic views of Ailsa Craig, Plada, the Sound of Bute and on clear days
Northern Ireland.
Located in the friendly hamlet of Lagg, the site of Neolithic chambered cairns are still visible. The cottage is only a few minutes walk from the local hotel which serves excellent lounge meals and has a fine dining restaurant and beer garden.
The village of Kilmory is a short walk up the hill
and has a creamery for fresh milk and cheese. The village hall has a
childrens' play area and tourist information board. The RSPB also have a
manned information room where there is a live webcam link to a Hen
Harriers nest and local wildlife walks and information
arranged.
